Breeding Hermit Crabs

Unfortunately, conditions in captivity are not correct for breeding hermit crabs, so breeding and raising young would be unsuccessful. In the wild, the eggs are laid in the ocean, and the young go on to eating plankton, and other microscopic food items, which cannot be stimulated in a tank, at home.
